PERHAPS YOU'RE RIGHT
— Poetry — 1 min read
Perhaps you’re right when you tell me
I’m taking this
too seriously.
But my disputes with the directors and their so-called visions
always result
in Oscars. They thank me
later post-awardspeech, post-afterparty
where I’m often not
mentioned at
all.
My recognition is not uncontrolled prurient ambition,
though
everybody in this work feels that way.
